Beginning in July, R Park will have its very own Ambassador. When you visit, you’ll likely see Ambassador Jake McIntosh, an avid hiker, traveler and skier.
As R Park’s first summer open, we expect to welcome many visitors. McIntosh will be present to answer questions, to keep the park clean, and to ensure things like parking run smoothly.
“I could not be more excited to be spending this summer working alongside Jackson residents to continue R park’s transformation.”
He has worked and volunteered for conservation projects around the world, beginning in high school when he developed a First Jobs program for local youth in the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.
More recently, McIntosh was an assistant for a trail mapping expedition in northern Mongolia for Lake Hovsgol National Park, part of a larger effort to enhance visitor experiences while limiting human impact on the environment.
Jake says, after a day of work at R Park,
“I plan to relax ontop of some of the park’s grassy knolls.”
Welcome Jake – we’re thrilled to have you!
There are a number of volunteers helping make the vision for R Park a reality. Our Advisory Board members have been advocates for the project since the beginning. We have many needs for help. Please let us know if you’re interested in volunteering.
